The Ballet Folklorico Azteca de Fort Worth (BFA) brings to life the spirit and culture of rich colorful past of the Latin America Countries. BFA’s repertoire consists of folk dances from varying states, provinces and regions of Mexico, as well as, dances from other Latin American Countries such as Chile, Panama, Cuba, and Puerto Rico to name a few. This enables BFA to present a variety of shows that are colorful, exciting and educational. BFA is an artistic dance depiction of Latin American Countries presented by the citizens of Fort Worth/Dallas area. For over 36 years BFA has presented exquisite entertainment to the City of Fort Worth and it’s visitors. Started in 1975 by the CAA (Community Action Agency), BFA continues it’s tradition of Family, Community, and Cooperation. Touching hundreds of young students who dedicate more than 25-36 years to BFA. Forming relationships and bonds that last a lifetime. In return, BFA provides all costumes and instruction virtually free of charge. BFA has won many awards and recognitions throughout it’s history. Appearing in both local and state competitions. Traveling to Budapest, Hungary with Fort Worth Sister Cities, guest and opening act of Olga Tanon (Puerto Rican Pop Star) at the Nancy Lee and Perry R. Bass Performance Hall and at VerizonTheatre at Grand Prairie. BFA has made appearances at numerous festivals and cultural events such as Fort Worth Main Street Arts Festival, Day In the Cultural District, Musicarte de Fort Worth, Fort Worth’s Mayfest, Folklife Festival in San Antonio, TX, Cook’s Children’s Medical Center’s Health Fair, Fort Worth Modern Art Museum’s “Dia De Los Muertos” and numerous Mexican Independence celebrations held in May and September and BFA’s own Fiestalorico. BFA has also performed for dignitaries and politicians such as President Jimmy Carter’s Presidential Campaign held in Fort Worth, TX, Honorable Jim Wright (former U.S. Speaker of the House), Cong. Kay Granger (former Mayor of Fort Worth), Fort Worth Mayor’s Bob Bolen, Kenneth Barr, Mike Moncrief and the Mexican Consulate in Fort Worth and San Antonio, Texas.
